About Harmony Waikato
Harmony Waikato is our local chapter of Barbershop Harmony New Zealand. We exist to promote enjoyment of barbershop harmony singing. We provide vocal education to our members and entertainment for the public.
Our charity provides umbrella services to two barbershop choruses: Mighty River Harmony and Manu Mātātahi.
Mighty River Harmony is a men's chorus which has been running for over 20 years. The group provides a place for men of all ages to come together through the joy of music. Want to sing with the lads? You can find us in the Marian School Hall on Tuesdays from 7:15pm.
Manu Mātātahi is a newer group, formed in 2021 which serves a diverse range of rangatahi who all love to sing. Manu Mātātahi is a rangatahi-driven chorus on a mission to rejuvenate barbershop among young people in the Waikato. New members are always welcome - you can find us in the Marian School Hall on Thursdays from 7:15pm.
We also support The Usual Suspects Quartet who recently represented Barbershop Harmony New Zealand at the International Quartet Competition in 2024. They were the national men's champions of 2023 and went on to place 25th in the world!
